June Alexander is a grandmother, writer, and international award-winning advocate in the field of eating disorders. She developed anorexia nervosa at age eleven in 1962, an illness which has largely shaped her life. Her latest title, Using Writing as a Therapy for Eating Disorders-The Diary Healer, is the main component in her Ph.D. in Creative Writing. June resigned from a long-time career in print journalism in 2007 to write her memoir, A Girl Called Tim-Escape From An Eating Disorder Hell. June enjoys presenting writing workshops to people of all ages, and is involved in eating disorder advocacy at local, national and international levels. June lives in Melbourne, Australia.

Carrie Worthington was born and raised in the Chicagoland area, where she married and raised her children.  She supported her family financially and her husband became a stay-at-home dad. After Carrie’s husband was diagnosed with bipolar, she found there wasn't a lot of support in general, and immersed herself into the world of mental health by joining and volunteering with NAMI where she helped grow the NAMI Will-Grundy chapter. Carrie's son was also diagnosed with bipolar and ADHD, and Carrie herself lives with depression, anxiety, and trichotillomania.

MaryKay Schreiner is a registered nurse certified in neonatal intensive care. She is married with four children and seven grandchildren. Melissa’s advocacy group, Gastroparesis: Fighting for Change, has made huge strides, passing awareness proclamations in 23 states, contributing to the implementation of a national awareness month, and starting a petition drive to advance a congressional bill that would greatly benefit the gastroparesis community.
